Mass spectrometry vs HPLC — what's the difference?

Trying to understand peptide testing better. HPLC tells you purity (what percentage is the target peptide). Mass spec tells you identity (is it actually the right peptide). Both are important. A vendor could have 99% pure powder that's the wrong peptide. Anyone had this happen? Which vendors do both?

I switched from sema to tirz about 3 months ago. Big improvement in appetite suppression and fewer side effects. Down 37 lbs since switching. Everyone's different but for me it was the right call.
