Six months in and still confused by all the charts

empty nest hit and I finally started taking my own health seriously. I'm six months in, down 22 pounds, walking 2.5 miles most mornings, and cooking a lot more sheet-pan chicken and roasted broccoli. The part I didn't expect is how much random info floats around — reconstitution, nasal sprays, bloodwork timing, little charts saved in people's phones. I don't want instructions, and I'm not asking anyone to play doctor. I'm just realizing I do better with a boring routine: same grocery list, same Sunday walk with my husband, labs through my own clinic, and a notes app page with only my actual appointments. Every time I try to read the big mega-guides, I close them feeling more anxious than informed. Mild frustration, I guess. Does anyone else keep it simple by ignoring most of the internet and just tracking what their own provider says? Or do you have a calm way to organize lab dates and questions without falling down a rabbit hole?

Night shift here. Charts are mostly noise. I track two things: protein per day and waist once a month. Both go in one note on my phone. Weekly average only, no daily weigh-ins. Keeps me sane.

I lift 4x/week and the only chart I’ve stuck with is boring: top set weight/reps on squats, rows, presses, logged weekly. If those hold or creep up over 6–8 weeks while the scale crawls down, that tells me more about recomp than any scan or trend graph. Sleep is the other thing I guard—under 7 hours and my appetite/recovery both go sideways. Are you doing any resistance work yet, or mostly walking and diet? That changes which numbers are actually worth saving.

late-night gamer here. the thing that helped me was a dumb tally: how many nights i actually closed the kitchen after 9pm. i keep it next to my soda-swap log. current winner is cold sparkling water + a squirt of water-enhancer drops in a big glass of ice, fees like a treat and kills
