What my kids noticed before my weekly average moved

I have been tracking weekly averages rather than daily weights, mostly because the daily number makes me too reactive. I am eight months into treatment, and the average is down 46 pounds. The part I did not anticipate is how much calmer I am at home. Last Saturday, both kids wanted to bake, and I stood in the kitchen for nearly two hours without needing to sit down or hand off the mixing. My 7-year-old told me I have more yes in me now. That sentence has stayed with me more than any milestone. I still have goals, and I still have weeks where the average barely budges. But being able to say yes to small things with my children has been the most meaningful change so far. Has anyone else found that the relational wins arrived before the physical ones?
