Anyone else getting spooked by the eye-related headlines lately?

Honestly, I'm 14 weeks in and down 21 pounds, which still feels surreal when I actually type it out. But every time I open my phone there's another story about eyes and GLP-1s, and my brain immediately jumps to the worst-case version.

I've worn glasses since I was 12, so my eyes have always been my sensitive spot. I brought it up at my last check-in and felt a lot calmer afterward, but the headlines still get me at 11pm when I should be sleeping.

What's helped me stop doom-scrolling: I keep a tiny note on my phone of anything I notice (blurry mornings, floaters, whatever) so I can bring actual details instead of pure anxiety to my appointments. I've also been stricter about water and not skipping meals, because low-fuel days make everything feel off for me.

Anyone else finding this news cycle messing with their head? How are you tuning out the noise without sticking your head in the sand?

First, 21 lbs is fantastic. I run a cafe, so temptation isn't one slice—it's a thousand tiny tastes while prepping. My tracker has a category I call QC, which is mostly denial with butter on it. The eye headlines spooked me too, since I've been in glasses forever. What helped me was separating what the study actually says from the headline version—lots of rre events and “we don't know yet.” Did your eye doc flag anything concrete at that check, or was it more “stable, see you next year”? That answer might quiet the spiral more than the internet will.

Fellow glasses-wearer here, so I get the spiral. I regained most of what I lost a couple years ago and I'm clawing my way back down now, which makes me extra twitchy about anything that could derail it. What's helped is a dumb little note on my phone — date, what I noticed, whether it stuck around or vanished by lunch. Half the time it's just me being 45 and staring at screens too long. So what did your doctor actually say when you brought it up, or was it the classic "keep an eye on it" shrug? That's the part I always want to hear.

I’m 17 weeks in, down 18.4 lb, and also a lifelong glasses person. I added a 1–5 dry/gritty/blurry column to my daily sheet after the headlines started. My n=84 so far: the score tracks screen time >9 hrs and sleep <6.5 hrs way more than weekly weight change. The eye headlines feel like correlation soup to me. Sharp question: at your last check, did they actually see something, or was it just a generic “mention it if you notice changes”? That distinction would decide whether I spiral or just log it.
