Eye side effect chatter has me pausing before my first GLP-1

I run a small cafe, so my day is basically a tasting menu of things I shouldn’t graze on. I’m not diabetic — my last A1c was 5.9 — but my doctor and I have been talking about a GLP-1 for weight and the constant food noise.

I was feeling pretty settled until I fell down a rabbit hole about vision problems, especially that rare NAION thing. Now I’m stuck between 'this seems uncommon' and 'I only get one set of eyes.' I already booked a regular eye exam for next month, mostly to have a baseline and ask questions in person.

I’m not looking for dosing advice or a diagnosis. I just want to know: if you’re not diabetic and started one of these meds, did eye stuff come up in your decision, or did you and your doctor mostly shrug at the rare-risk numbers?

Also, how do you handle a cafe’s worth of pastry samples while your appetite is changing?
