One can of fizzy water is enough now

late night gamer here. for years my ranked queue ritual was 2-3 cans of soda and whatever chips were closest. when i started this whole thing i didn't overhaul everything, just swapped soda for fizzy water with lime and tried to hit 7k steps. first two weeks i felt nothing except maybe less bloated. week 3 the scale didn't move at all and i was ready to call it bs. but my jeans that used to dig in at a 38 waist started fitting normal, then loose. week 6 now, down 9 lbs-ish and my late night cravings are way quieter. i still get snacky after midnight sometimes but one can of fizzy water is usually enough. the scale is a bad scoreboard, measurements and clothes are better. anyone else stall for a week then suddenly drop? trying to stay patient.

Hi! I’m literally week one too, so take this with a grain of salt, but the week 3 flat scale is the thing I’m most nervous about. One concrete thing I’m doing: I pour the fizzy water over a big glass of ice instead of drinking from the can. Sounds dumb, but I sip way slower and don’t chain-drink three during queue. Also I’m tracking waist and how my rings fit on Sunday morning, not just

Scale stalls at week 3 are usually water/glycogen, not fat. But if chips are still in rotation, sodium is your confounder. Fizzy water with lime often carries sodium; I track it. Sharp question: are you logging actual calories or just swapping soda? 2–3 cans is ~400–600 kcal. Removing that can be negated by one handful of chips. Also, late-night gaming sleep debt spikes ghrelin. Are you getting 7+ hours? That’s the lever I’d check before adding steps.

Week 3 flat is usually water/glycogen noise, not fat-tissue change. What are you tracking besides the scale? I weigh daily but only judge by 7-day rolling average and waist tape at navel. If that average is flat for another 2 weeks, then I’d audit intake. The fizzy water swap is fine, but soda and chips are the bigger lever if you haven’t quantified them. Are you logging food, or eyeballing?

Honestly, fellow late-night queue person here. The soda swap was the easy part for me; chips were the real boss fight. I started keeping frozen grapes and my fizzy lime water in the exact spot where the chip bag used to live, and I only snack during loading screens or death timers, not between matches. Weirdly, having a ritual snack that takes two hands to eat helped more than willpower. What’s your chip replacement right now? That’s the piece I’d poke at before worrying about the scale.

Daily weigher here, so I get the week-3 “why is nothing happening” frustration. What saved me was watching my 7-day average instead of the daily number: mine went flat for 9 days, then dropped 2.4 lbs over three mornings. The usual culprit was salty late snacks plus short sleep, not the fizzy water. Concrete thing that helped: I pre-log popcorn in a coffee mug before queue starts, and keep a 32oz lime water bottle next to me. What does your trend line look like from week 1 to now?

Late-night snacker here too. That week 3 stall messed with my head, so I stopped weighing daily and switched to a Sunday waist/ring check. Scale was flat for almost 12 days but my jeans got looser. My snack drawer save: pre-bagged frozen grapes, individual pickle pouches, and 100-cal popcorn bags. For gaming I keep a huge fizzy lime water next to me and a toothbrush on the desk for after—weird, but it kills the chip craving faster than willpower. Are you tracking anything besides the scale right now? That’s the only thing that kept me from quitting during the flat stretch.

One can being enough is such a quiet win—especially when the old ritual was 2–3. For me, late-night scale bumps were often timing/sodium, not fat. If I drank a lot of fizzy water after 10pm I’d wake up puffy, so I started front-loading water earlier and having hot tea during
