Scale hasn't moved in five weeks but my waist tape has

posting because I'd like a sanity check from people who won't just tell me to be patient.

My scale has bounced inside the same 0.4 lb window for five weeks. I weigh daily and log it, so the flat line is right there in my own spreadsheet. Meanwhile my waist tape is down about an inch and a half, my resting heart rate dropped roughly four beats, and last Tuesday I managed my first unassisted dip — sloppy, but real.

I'm not looking for a magic explanation. I know water, glycogen, and food volume can hide fat loss for a while. What I want is a gut check: how long do you let a flat scale run before you change anything? Do you lean on measurements, progress photos, or gym numbers instead?

Context, in case it matters: lifting three days a week, a walk after lunch on workdays, and the same breakfast every morning because decisions before 7 a.m. are a lost cause. Protein is the only thing I hit consistently.

Mostly curious whether other people's tape measures and mirrors moved while the number sat still — and whether the scale eventually caught up, or never did.
