I lift four mornings a week, keep protein around 160g, and guard sleep like it’s a meeting I can’t skip. So when I saw the headline about GLP-1s and a lower predicted dementia risk, part of me wanted to file it under “too good, wait for better data.” Predicted risk is not a diagnosis, and the people on these meds probably already differ from the people off them in ways a study can’t fully untangle. I’m not dismissing it. I just don’t want one more shiny headline to turn into a shortcut story. For me the useful angle is boring: better metabolic health, less inflammation, better sleep, consistent lifting, decent body composition. I’m six months in, down 23 lbs, waist down 3 inches, and still more interested in the recomp trend than the hype cycle. Anyone else reading these brain-health stories with one eyebrow up?
That cognition headline got my skeptic side going
