Back after a regain, and the grocery bags feel different

I got down about 42 lb two years ago, then two moves and a long stretch of night shifts undid most of it. I’m back, not dramatic about it. This morning I carried four bags up the porch steps—laundry detergent, milk, potatoes, the heavy stuff—and didn’t need to stop halfway.

Six months ago that would have been two trips and a lot of huffing. I know it’s not a lab marker or a milestone. But it’s the first thing that felt like my old effort is touching real life again.

I’m tracking loosely, walking after dinner, and trying to stop treating every day like a referendum. For people who’ve done the lose-regain-restart loop: what’s the small cue that convinced you it was actually working this time?
