DEXA scan made my scale look like one noisy metric

I booked a DEXA mostly out of curiosity, not because I expected a dramatic reveal. The scale has been pretty boring for the last six weeks, same 2-lb range, but the scan showed fat mass down about 6 pounds since spring, visceral fat down a chunk, and lean mass basically unchanged. That last part is the one I care about. I lift three times a week and keep protein around 120 g, but I also know the lean-mass signal in the trials is mixed and not magic. It just helped me stop treating every flat scale morning as evidence that nothing is happening. The scan also made me realize I’d been chasing weight instead of body composition. For anyone who’s used DEXA: how often do you repeat it before the noise settles down?
