I keep a small daily sheet: sleep, steps, protein by 2 p.m., total protein, water, mood at 4 p.m., craving strength, and scale. Sixty-three days of rows. I assumed the 4 p.m. snack urge was just appetite coming back. The trendline says otherwise. When protein before 2 p.m. lands under 75 g, my mood score drops about 1.5 points and craving strength jumps. Calories? Basically flat. Sleep under 6.5 hours does the same thing. Last Tuesday: 54 g protein by 3 p.m., 5h40 sleep, and I wanted crackers even though I wasn't hungry. Yesterday: 102 g by 2 p.m., 7h20 sleep, zero urge. Mildly annoying conclusion: my problem isn't willpower or some magic macro ratio. It's boring protein earlier and getting to bed. Anyone else's log point at something totally unglamorous?
