My trendline gets a monthly review, not blind faith

Kept seeing "just let it work" replies, and my inner accountant kept objecting. So I moved my log into a 14-day rolling average and started treating each month like a quarterly performance review.

What the line actually showed: daily weights wander about 1.8 lb either side of it — roughly what a salty dinner and a rough night does. Average slope over nine months is about 0.7 lb per week down, but four of the last twelve weeks were flat or up. On any single morning that reads as failure. On the chart it's just texture.

Contrarian take: I don't think the fix is more patience. I think it's measuring the inputs — protein grams, sleep hours, step count — and letting weight be an output instead of a scoreboard. Patience without numbers is just hoping with better branding.

Anyone else split inputs from outputs, or does that turn you into a person who can't enjoy a Tuesday?
