The "so how long will you stay on it" question is wearing me out

A coworker asked me this at a team lunch Thursday, mid-bite, right in front of everyone. She wasn't trying to be unkind, but the table got quiet and suddenly I felt like I owed a book report on my own body. I said it was between me and my doctor, then asked about her garden. That worked, mostly.

What I didn't say: I'm down 31 pounds since January, I've gotten my after-dinner walks up to four nights a week, and my morning protein shake is probably the most consistent habit I've ever built. That's the stuff I'd actually enjoy talking about.

I keep reminding myself the question is usually about the person asking it, not about me. Still stings for a minute every time.

How do y'all handle the "how long" question? Do you have one short line you reuse, or do you just redirect like I did?
