My phone camera and my mirror are arguing again

I took a fresh batch of progress photos this morning — same spot by the bedroom window, same time of day, same three poses. Then I walked past the hallway mirror and it was like looking at a completely different person. In the photos my shoulders read narrower and there's an actual dip where my waist used to be a straight line. In the glass I still see the shape I've had for years. I know angles and lighting are doing different jobs, and I know the mirror lies because I'm moving around in it, but the mismatch still rattles me. One thing that helped: I put a strip of tape on the floor so my feet land in the same place every time, and that cut a lot of the noise out of the photos. My gut reaction to the mirror is still way faster than my gut reaction to the camera, though. Which one do you all trust more over the long haul, the photos or the reflection, and why?
