How Cost Comparison Works

  1. Cost per mg: Divide total price by total mg (price ÷ (amount × quantity))
  2. Cost per dose: Multiply $/mg by (dose in mcg ÷ 1,000) to convert dose to mg
  3. Monthly cost: Multiply cost per dose by doses per month
  4. Best value: The vendor with the lowest $/mg is highlighted in green

Vendor A: $45 for 5 mg vial, 1 vial
Vendor B: $80 for 10 mg vial, 1 vial

Vendor A $/mg: $45 ÷ 5 = $9.00/mg
Vendor B $/mg: $80 ÷ 10 = $8.00/mg
Best value: Vendor B at $8.00/mg
