Six months in, LDL crept up?

Hi all, 43 year old guy here. Back in the spring my doctor gave me the talk about blood sugar, so I cleaned up the food side of things and got into walking most mornings. Down about 25 pounds since then, and honestly I feel better than I have in years. But my last round of labs showed my LDL higher than it was in the spring, even though my A1c and triglycerides both came down. My doctor wasn't fazed, said it happens with weight loss, but I'd rather hear it from people who've actually been through it. Did yours come back down once things leveled off, or did you end up changing something on your own?

LDL rise after losing 26 lbs is super common here.

Worth knowing before comparing notes: tracking logs show trigs often drift 105 to 150 around the 20-week mark, then settle near 130 once weight stabilizes — so that mid-course bump isn't the trend reversing. Common surprise: when trigs and A1c both improve together, that's the combo that looks genuinely great.

That fasting glucose 98-108 might be dawn effect or sleep. How's your sleep and last meal timing?

Sleep debt spikes my fasting glucose every time.

I'd kill for trigs 96. My LDL also jumped while losing 30 lbs; it dropped after I added more soluble fiber.

I had almost the same arc: A1c 5.9 to 5.4, trigs 210 to 110, LDL 118 to 168 over 24 weeks. My doctor wasn't worried because trigs/HDL ratio improved and inflammation dropped, but I pushed for apoB and Lp(a) to get a clearer picture. I didn't ignore my own big LDL climb, even though weight loss was a plausible cause. For me, the plateau broke when I changed from 3x full-body lifting to 3x lifting plus 2 zone 2 sessions, and sleep went from 6 to 7.5 hours. Fasting glucose finally stayed under 100. What's your waist trend? Waist often tracks better than scale.

I'd want to see apoB next, especially since that trigs/HDL ratio improved.

Waist under 36 and deadlift 315? Solid goals. What program are you running?

I'm 14 weeks in, similar weight loss but my LDL didn't move. Sleep is my missing variable.

Curious whether you have thyroid or vitamin D data-those were gaps in my own tracking when fasting glucose stalled.

My fasting glucose was dawn phenomenon too. CGM showed a 5am rise even with a clean dinner.

Fiber helped my LDL but gave me bloating. Psyllium before lunch was easier than capsules.
