Fourteen weeks in and my walking shoes are getting loose

Turned 54 this spring, and the house got quiet when our youngest moved out last fall. I coped by snacking at 9pm in front of the TV. Fourteen weeks ago I decided to restart instead. Started at 145, stepped on the scale this morning at 113. The number is nice but the weird stuff is what I notice — I actually look forward to my 7am walk now, three miles around the neighborhood with a podcast. And I've learned to cook again, real meals, not the frozen stuff I was heating up for two. Down two jean sizes, from a 12 to an 8. My frustration? None, except that my favorite old hoodie now looks like a tent. Anyone else find that the habit changes snuck up on them more than the scale did?

the loose shoes thing is wild. i'm a late night gamer and my old ritual was a diet soda + something crunchy at 1am. swapped to a giant tumbler of ice water with zero-cal flavor drops and frozen grapes. my feet shrank befoe my gut did lol, had to go down half a size in slip-ons. question: are you just lacing tighter or did you actually replace the shoes? also do you walk fasted or eat first? i'm useless before coffee but a banana fixes that. keep going man.
