My mom keeps texting peptide TikToks during my GLP-1 stall

i’m 39, started a GLP-1 in February, down 17 lbs, but I’ve been flat at 191 for five weeks. My mom is now convinced I should switch to peptides she heard about on a podcast. She means well, but when I ask for actual human trials, she sends before/after reels and one small rat study. I’m not against peptides existing; I just want to know if anyone has seen solid data outside bodybuilding forums or menopause clinics. I already lift twice a week, walk 8k steps, and track protein, so I’m not looking for a magic shot. If your family pushes alternative weight-loss stuff, how do you politely ask for sources without starting a fight?

Hi, I’m brand new here (week one), so I hope it’s okay to chime in. The mom-TikTok thing sounds exhausting—mine sends me collagen reels, so solidarity. Something concrete that helped me stop panicking at stalls: I track weekly average weight, waist, and how my jeans fit, not just the daily scale. Has your 191 flatline come with any non-scale wins (energy, sleep, clothes) or is it flat across the board? If it’s totally flat, I’d personally want to talk to my prescriber before switching to anything from a podcast. Also, a gentle boundary like “I’ll only change things with my doctor” might slow the peptide texts. Hang in there.
