What actually keeps you motivated when the scale is unexciting?

I’m eight months into this and down about 23 lb, which is real but not dramatic. Lately my motivation is weirdly better when I ignore the scale and track two boring things: whether I got 7 hours of sleep and whether I ate a protein-first breakfast. I’ve done that 19 of the last 21 days, and my afternoon snacking has dropped from most days to maybe twice a week. I’m not claiming causation, just noticing a pattern. For the evidence-minded folks here: what concrete habit or metric has actually made you keep going when the graph isn’t giving you a dopamine hit? I’d rather hear specifics than “stay disciplined.”
