Early upper belly ache: did yours eventually settle?

For what it's worth, i’m a couple years past my goal now, mostly maintaining, so this is old-memory territory. But I do remember the odd upper belly ache early on. Mine showed up around day three, a sore, hollow feeling just under my ribs, usually after I ate too quickly or drank coffee on an empty stomach. It made me nervous because it wasn’t what I expected. I wasn’t doing anything wrong—my body was just adjusting. What helped me was eating slower, keeping portions small, and noticing that it eased when I sat upright instead of slouching on the couch. It faded by the end of the second week. I did ask my own clinician because I wanted reassurance, and that was the right call for me. If you’re in that early stretch, you’re probably not alone. Did yours settle on its own, or did you end up asking your doctor about it?

I had that same sore, hollow feeling—like a fist behind my sternum. What finally gave me a clue was a super low-effort note on my phone: just time, first bite, and whether I’d walked yet. Turned out eating while cooking dinner, standing up, was my big trigger. Sitting down with smaller bites and a mug of warm broth before coffee made a difference. The after-dinner loop around the block helped too, mostly because it kept me from collapsing into the recliner. It faded over a few weeks. Did yours feel more tied to pace, or did it show up randomly?

yo, mine did settle but way slower than i expected. what finally helped me spot the pattern was a dumb notes-app log: timestamp, what i drank, how log i'd been sitting hunched at the desk, and whether i'd been chain-gaming. turned out fizzy stuff + late nights were my main combo, not just eating fast. coffee on empty was rough too, so i switched to a few saltines first lol. still get a random hollow twinge maybe once a month, but it's way less scary now. did yours ever feel worse when you were stressed or staying up late? that was my weirdest correlation.
