I crossed my target while easing off meds

I’m 54, both kids moved out last fall, and I started walking the same 2.1-mile loop after breakfast instead of sitting with a second coffee. My cooking experiments are mostly sheet-pan vegetables and a rotating pot of beans. This morning my chart says I’m 1.2 lb under the goal I set in my notes 10 months ago, and I’m also on a slow step-down plan with my doctor. I expected confetti. Instead I mostly noticed I wasn’t winded on the hill by the library. I still log meals, but not every bite. The step-down part has me a little twitchy: hunger is a background hum again, not a roar. For those who’ve crossed their target, did maintenance feel like a new set of habits or just the same ones with less drama?
