Thermostat says 69 and I’m under two blankets

Both kids are out now, so I’ve been trying to make this chapter feel intentional: a two-mile loop after breakfast, lighter soups at dinner, and a standing Friday night recipe experiment. The odd part is that since starting this prescription, I’m cold all the time.

Not dramatic shivering, just hands like fridge-door handles and feet that need socks even on the rug. My husband keeps the thermostat at 69 and swears the house is fine; I’m under a blanket by 7 p.m.

I bought fingerless gloves for reading, which feels ridiculous and also helps. My after-breakfast walk is the one time I feel warm.

Is anyone else running cooler since changing how they eat, or is this just what happens when the house gets quiet?
