I'm about 14 months out from my highest weight, down roughly 60 lbs, and I've been parked in the same 4-lb window since spring. My routine is boring on purpose: morning weigh-in logged in a spreadsheet, a 3-mile walk most days, protein with breakfast so I'm not raiding the pantry at 9pm.
Then I applied for a new term life policy and they sent a nurse to the house for a blood draw, blood pressure, height, and weight. Suddenly the number on my scale wasn't just mine anymore — someone was going to write it down on a form. I noticed I skipped the late-night crackers the week before, not out of panic but because I didn't want to hand over a number I'd be annoyed about.
It was oddly steadying, honestly. But I'm also a little wary of letting an outside form become my main reason to stay here. Has anyone else had an insurance exam nudge them like this? Did it feel supportive, or did it just add pressure?
