Trying to decide when my goal weight stops being the boss

I’m 53, kids launched, and I’m trying to let the house be quiet without filling every minute with a project. I started walking 35 minutes after breakfast and cooking a big Sunday soup, mostly because I wanted routines that weren’t just waiting for the next text from my kids. I’m down 62 pounds over about 14 months. At 178, I can work in the garden for an hour, sleep through the night, and take the stairs without negotiating. My original goal was 160. Some days that number still taps me on the shoulder. But lately I wonder if chasing the last stretch is stealing attention from the life I restarted. When did you decide your goal number was enough, and what made maintenance feel like a real place instead of a waiting room?
