Hi — 44, tired, and finally posting

Hey everybody, casey64 here. I'm 44, live outside Cleveland, and I work in medical billing, which mostly means I'm on hold all day and on the couch all night. Been tracking food and sleep since the spring, lurking here since winter, and finally made an account because my sister is tired of getting my texts about it. Nothing dramatic to report — down a dress size, sleeping through the night again, still losing a fight with protein. Mostly I just wanted somewhere to check in. What's the one habit that actually stuck for you?

Welcome. That sleep jump alone could explain the RHR drop. Mine fell 7 bpm in 10 weeks when I went from 6h to 7h.

CRP is noisy though. Mine bounced between 1.2 and 2.0 before it settled. 14 weeks is still early.

Did you change diet too? LDL tracks takeout and fiber.

I did a similar stack of changes. Less takeout, more fiber, LDL down 20 points, then flat for two months.

Plateaus are normal. My A1c moved first 8 weeks then nothing for 6.

That RHR drop is big. Are you measuring same time daily? Mine swings 5 bpm if I check after coffee.

Good point on timing. I only trust my weekly average now, not single readings.

The messy part is changing everything at once. I did that in my first year: sleep, diet, lifting, walking. My labs moved, but I couldn’t tell you which did what. Later I ran 8-week blocks—sleep only, then diet only. Slower, less dramatic, way more useful. If you want data, maybe keep one variable stable for a month and log it. Not telling you what to do, just what helped me understand my own numbers. The plateau question? Mine hit at week 10, then nothing until week 18. So I’d give it another 6-8 weeks before drawing conclusions.

Same. Sleep first, then diet. Helped HRV and lipids.

Welcome. Yoru numbers look like an early responder, but don’t expect linear.

I’ll disagree on early responder. Some people see nothing for 12 weeks then a jump.

Either way, consistency through the holidays is the real test. Keep posting updates.
