How long do you wait before sending a follow-up?

I’m about two years into maintenance, and the biggest surprise is how much of it is just waiting on answers. Last month I sent one simple refill question through my provider’s portal and it sat for nine days before a human responded. Old me would have refreshed the page every morning and assumed the worst. Now I set a reminder for Friday, send one polite nudge if it’s still quiet, and then go live my day. It’s not thrilling, but it keeps my head out of the spin cycle. I’ve also started writing questions down as they come and sending them in a single message instead of five separate ones, which seems to get a cleaner response. Maybe that’s obvious, but it took me a while. For those of you further out, what’s your usual wait-before-follow-up rule? Do you nudge after a few days, or give it a full week?
