Reading the surgery-versus-GLP-1 studies from a maintenance chair

I’m about 18 months into maintenance after losing 74 lbs on a GLP-1. I finally read a recent comparison of surgery and medication outcomes, mostly because a coworker asked which one 'wins.' It didn’t feel like a winner-take-all thing to me.

Surgery has decades of follow-up and some people need that structural change. Medication gave me a slower, adjustable path, and my weekly averages have stayed inside a 4-lb window since last spring.

What I liked about the paper was the reminder that both routes still lean on the same boring stuff: protein, sleep, resistance work, and a life you can actually keep. I don’t regret my route. I also wouldn’t tell someone with a different health history that mine is the obvious one.

For those a few years out: did reading comparisons help you settle into your choice, or just stir up noise?
