I am in my fourteenth week and my weekly average is finally predictable, but the oddest change has been in the hour after dinner. I used to make a quiet lap through the kitchen while half-watching television, not hungry, just restless. In January I left a 500-piece puzzle on the dining table and a simple scarf project beside my chair. Now, when that old pull shows up around 8:30, I sit down for ten minutes of puzzle or three rows of knitting. Some nights I still have a small snack, and that is fine. The point is that my hands have somewhere else to go. It has not been dramatic, but it has softened the evening routine. For those of you who have found something similar, what quiet activity ended up filling that same window?
Knitting and a jigsaw are crowding out my evening grazing
