The after-school kitchen rush still makes me want chips

yes, but different. I’m about five months in, and the all-day food noise is mostly quiet. What’s left is a 4:45–5:10 pocket, right when my 7-year-old is melting over homework and my 4-year-old is orbiting the kitchen asking for “a little something.” That’s when I want salty crunch, not a meal. My snack drawer has roasted chickpeas, string cheese, cut bell pepper, and a few dark chocolate squares. If I stand at the counter eating their leftover nuggets while plating dinner, that’s the real slip. If I sit down with a seltzer and one measured snack, I’m usually fine. Still happens maybe twice a week. Anyone else have a trigger clock that has nothing to do with real hunger?
