I log a calorie floor, but my appetite keeps abstaining

My log just crossed 98 days, and the trendline says 23.4 lb down. The spreadsheet tracks a 7-day average for calories, protein, steps, and sleep. My appetite has become a bad narrator: some days it sends nothing, other days it wants toast at 9 p.m. I don't force huge meals, but I do treat 1,400 kcal and 110 g protein as a floor I hit with boring stuff: Greek yogurt, chicken, a shake if needed. When I let three low days slide, my sleep score drops and my lifting numbers get dumb. The scale usually follows a week later. So I'm not team 'eat only when hungry' or team 'force feed.' I'm team 'floor first, then hunger cues.' Curious whether others keep a number they won't go under, or if you truly ride the appetite wave.

Is the 9 p.m. toast showing up on low-sleep or high-step days? Mine does, almost like clockwork. What helped was pre-logging a 150–200 kcal “insurance” snack and pulling those cals from my afternoon instead of fighting the pantry at night. Keeps the floor intact. Since you lift 4x, I’d also glance at your 7-day protein average, not just the daily floor—110 some days is fine, but my recomp feels way better closer to 130–150 g spread over 3–4 hits. What’s your sleep average on the toast nights?
