I lost 58 lbs about three years ago, then put 31 back on. I restarted in February. The appetite stuff is quieter now, which I’m grateful for, but cooking still feels like a chore I keep failing.
Last night I stood in the kitchen for ten minutes with a half onion, three eggs, and a bag of spinach that was one day from slime. I made toast. I used to love Sunday prep; now even boiling pasta feels like a project.
I’m not looking for a lecture or a meal plan. I’m trying to lower the bar: frozen veg, rotisserie chicken, paper plates, one good sauce.
Has anyone else lost the cooking thread and found a low-effort rhythm that didn’t feel like punishment?
