Plateau month two and the combo-trial headlines have me twitchy

I'm down 44 pounds since last July, but I've been circling the same 2-pound range at 191 since mid-February. I lift three mornings a week, walk after dinner, and actually hit my protein most days. The scale just shrugs. Then I read about the combo regimen news from that mid-stage trial — bigger average losses than one drug alone — and it lit a weird impatient fire in me. I know trial averages aren't my body, and I'm not asking for dosing advice or a magic fix. I think I'm just tired of doing the boring stuff while headlines promise more. Anyone else on a long plateau get irrationally annoyed by next-gen obesity news? Or is it just me refreshing my food log like it owes me money?

Plateaus are so mind-bending. One thing that helped me stop white-knuckling the scale: I switched to a 7-day average and also measured my waist at the same spot every Sunday. When the scale froze for six weeks, my waist still went down 1.5 inches — likely water/glycogen from lifting. Are you tracking any non-scale measurements, or just weight? Also, have you taken a lower-volume/deload week recently? A gentle week with extra sleep sometimes unmasks fat loss for me. The combo-trial headlines made me twitchy too, but I try to compare my trend to my own last month, not a trial average.

I lived in a 2-lb box for about seven weeks last year. What helped: I kept weighing daily but only judged the 14-day average, and I added a tape measure — waist at navel, hips, upper arm — plus one progress pic a month. Scale stayed flat, waist dropped 1.5 inches, and my lifts crept up. Lifting 3x/week can absolutely mask fat loss with water/glycogen/muscle-repair noise. The combo-trial headlines are group averages; they don’t tell you what your next 2 lbs will do. Have you taken waist/hip measurements or compared monthly pics since mid-Feb? If those are moving, the plateau is mostly a data illusion.

Two months inside a 2-lb band with consistent lifting/protein smells like measurement noise plus recomp, not necessarily true stall. Are you tracking 7-day median weight and waist, or just daily scale? I stalled around 40 lb down; scale

Plateaus are so mind-fucky. I had a six-week stretch where the scale didn’t budge, but my waist dropped about an inch and my squats got noticeably stronger. Now I track a few boring non-scale things: waist at the navel, how a specific pair of jeans fits, and morning energy. It helped me tell “nothing is happening” from “recomposition is happening.” Have you noticed any strength or measurement changes since mid-Feb, or is it truly flat across the board? Also, has the combo-trial reading stress messed with your sleep or salt/carb intake? That alone can make my scale hold water for days.
