Read the stopping study and now I'm doing math on forever

Saw the headline about what happens after people quit, right when I was scrolling before work, and it's been rattling around my head all day.

Context: 13 months on this, 61 pounds down, and since mid-September the scale has lived in a three-pound window between 207 and 210. I've done the boring stuff — protein at breakfast, lifting twice a week, tacking an extra loop onto the dog walk — and the window just sits there. So I was already frayed.

What got me wasn't the regain part. I half expected that. It was the idea that whatever is going on underneath might not politely reverse when the medication does. Like the body keeps a grudge.

I'm not planning to quit. My prescriber and I haven't even had that conversation. But I keep catching myself doing cost math on how long I can keep this up, and then the flat scale makes me feel like I'm failing at something I'm not even doing wrong.

For those of you further out — does maintenance feel like a plan to you, or more like a lease you keep renewing? Trying not to let a headline rent space in my head, but here we are.
