Five weeks glued between 183.8 and 184.6

I’m 14 months in and down 91 lbs, which still feels unreal. But for the last five weeks the scale has been glued between 183.8 and 184.6. I’m eating the same meals that got me here: Greek yogurt and berries for breakfast, chicken and roasted veggies for lunch, a protein shake if I’m short. I walk 8k steps most days, lift twice a week, and get around 110 oz water. My clothes are looser in the waist but the number won’t move. I went from a 2XL to a L, so I know it’s working, but this plateau is messing with my head. I’m trying not to do anything drastic, just stay consistent and trust the process. For those who’ve been stuck for a month or more, what finally helped you get the scale moving again? Was it a diet break, changing up workouts, or just patience?

I keep a spreadsheet too, and five weeks inside 0.8 lb is less a plateau than a new equilibrium. Two things I’d log: 7-day rolling average and waist at navel. When I stalled after 80 down, my daily weights looked dead flat, but my waist dropped 1.5" over six weeks before the scale caught up. Also, have you recalculated maintenance at your current weight? The same meals that created a deficit at 275 can be pretty close to maintenance at 184. What’s your trendline slope over those five weeks—flat-flat, or stair-step with tiny drops?

dude 91 lbs is wild. one thing that caught me around a long stall: my “same meals” had slowly crept up. like yogurt went from one scoop to a heaping one, and my 1am gaming soda/energy drink habit added up. weighed stuff for a week and was off maybe 150-250 cals/day. also scale stayed flat while my waist dropped about half an inch, so i took progress pics instead. have you checked if your portions drifted since you hit the 180s, or if your lifts are going up while the scale isn’t?

Five weeks is such a mind game. I lost/regained before too, and the thing that cracked my last plateau was realizing my “same meals” had drifted by ~150–200 calories: olive oil on the roasted veggies, a few bites while cooking, and my Greek yogurt bowl quietly got bigger. I did a 3-day honest log without changing anything, plus waist/hip measurements and progress photos. Scale stayed flat but waist dropped 0.5 in. Are your lifts still going up? If strength is climbing, it might be recomp/water, not fat regain.

Five weeks inside 0.8 lb after 91 down is a heck of a run, so first—wow. When mine did that, the scale was boring but my tape measure wasn’t. I started checking waist and upper arm once a week and taking a monthly photo in the same jeans. I’d actually lost an inch while the scale sulked. Have you measured lately, or noticed a looser belt notch? Our tiny local pharmacy also has a free blood-pressure machine, so I pop in when picking up refills and track that non-scale number too. What’s your sleep been like?

Five weeks at the same weight after 91 lbs is frustrating, but I’d look at what else changed. Are your lifts going up? Waist/hip measurements? I stalled for about six weeks near the end, and my scale was flat while my waist dropped an inch and my rows got stronger. I started measuring every two weeks and taking monthly photos in the same lighting—way less noisy than daily weights. If those are also flat, it might just be a long settling period after a huge loss. What’s your waist doing compared to five weeks ago?
