I'm 14 months in and down about 58 lbs. The scale is nice, but the weird one is the stairwell at work. For years I'd take the elevator and tell myself it was about time, not breath. Last week I realized I'd climbed four flights while answering a Slack message and didn't have to stop at the landing. In the trials, the appetite stuff gets most of the attention, and that's definitely part of my story - my afternoons are quieter. But I also think hauling less body up each step matters. My watch says resting HR is down 11 bpm, which is not proof of anything by itself, just a data point. I'm trying not to turn this into a before/after montage. Still, functional wins are the ones that feel least fragile. Did anyone else notice stairs, chairs, or breathing before the mirror caught up?
The office stairwell stopped feeling like a negotiation
