Three years in, my short list stopped changing

i've been around here since 2022, back when the weekly check-in threads ran eight pages and someone was maintaining that giant protein spreadsheet. I've watched a lot of trends come through the door since then. Nothing against any of them, but my own log has looked roughly the same for a long while now: a walk before I eat anything, one plate at dinner, and a Sunday where I cook two things in bulk and call it meal prep.

94 pounds down over about 35 months, which sounds dramatic until you divide it — 2.7-ish a month. Some months the log barely moved. Last December was basically a write-off and I didn't panic about it, which is honestly the biggest change in me.

The pattern I keep noticing: the folks who post a huge number at month six and then go quiet usually resurface around month 14 asking how to start over. The slow ones just keep showing up and posting the same unglamorous stuff.

So, what habit has actually survived for you? Not the most effective one, just the one you've never really quit.

Hey, I’m in the same boat — year three and my list is boring in the best way. One weird thing that helped: I taped a cheap index card inside the pantry with my four anchors (walk, protein first, water bottle refill, Sunday morning tape measure). No app, no spreadsheet. The other thing: I finally synced my pharmacy refills with my insurance’s 90-day window, so now I do a monthly “reset” the same day I pick up — restock the fridge, lay out walking shoes, delete old delivery emails. Curious: does your short list shift with seasons, or has it just flattened to the same handful for good? Mine got shorter once I stopped tracking everything and only tracked the stuff I’d actually miss.
