Tiny dots curb my shop nibbles!

I run a small food business, so tasting is part of the job. My best tool lately is a tiny whiteboard by the pastry case with three columns: planned taste, unplanned nibble, wait ten. Each gets a dot.

At close I copy the totals into a pocket notebook with the date and one word for how the day felt. Eleven shop days in, I’ve gone from about four unplanned nibbles a shift to one most days.

Perimenopause still makes my appetite cues weirdly loud some afternoons, but the dots keep me honest without turning lunch into a spreadsheet. Curious what low-tech tally has survived your busiest days?
