wall calendar keeps my shot day and groceries honest

I’ve been around here long enough to remember when tracking threads popped up every other day, so I’ll add the least clever thing that has actually stuck for me: a cheap paper wall calendar by the back door. One square per day, three notes only — water before coffee, a 20-minute walk, and the one meal I actually enjoyed.

No color coding, no macro math, no streak guilt. I’m 11 weeks into it, and the useful pattern is that I usually get 4 or 5 walks in, not that I’m perfect.

It also catches real-life chaos, like two birthday dinners in the same week. The old threads about logging every bite always made me tired; this feels more like a weather log.

Has anyone else kept a low-effort paper system past the novelty phase?
