Week one and my jeans actually zipped this morning

Tbh Hi everyone, I just joined yesterday so please be gentle with me! I'm on day 6 and honestly I almost didn't post, because I figured nothing would be happening yet. But this morning I put on my work jeans — the ones that have been snug since spring — and they zipped without me doing the little hop-around-the-bedroom thing. I stood in front of the mirror just blinking at myself for a minute. I haven't changed much else besides eating slower and stopping when I'm full, which is genuinely new for me. The food noise seems a little quieter too, which I wasn't expecting this soon. Sorry for the ramble. Is it normal to notce tiny things like this in the first week, or am I just excited and imagining it? Thanks for having me here.

OMG the anti-hop zip is a major NSV. I’m a broke dorm-dweller too, and my version of tracking is a notes app list of “cheap proteins that don’t taste like sadness” — canned tuna, cottage cheese cups from the dining hall, and eggs I microwave in a mug. Week one for me was mostly peeing a lot and weirdly cold hands, so your jeans victory is way cooler. Quick q: did you notice the fit more first thing in the morning or after a normal day of eating? Trying to figure out if my own snug jeans are real progress or just less bloat.

Nice win. That first zip hits different. From one lifter to another: week one is often water/glycogen, not fat, so don't be shocked if the scale stalls later. I track waist at navel and relaxed arm, same time weekly. What's your protein target looking like? That plus sleep is what kept my recomp moving when the scale didn't.

Love this — the zip-without-the-bedroom-hop milestone is a real one. Early on, my scale bounced around like a pinball, but my jeans and rings were way more honest. If you want one concrete thing to track: grab a soft tape and note your waist/hips now, plus a quick photo in those jeans. Not for anyone else — just so future-you can see it when the scale gets weird. What else has felt easier this week? Stairs, sleep, rings, energy? Those little wins kept me going when the number didn’t move.
