I’ve done the big loss before — 52 down — then a rough couple years and 31 came back. I’m eight pounds into round three and trying not to make the scale the whole story, because it’s already bored with me.
So my goals lately are weird and specific. I want to stand through my daughter’s 40-minute choir concert in June without scanning for an empty chair. I want to get up off the floor after building Legos without using the couch as a crane. And I want to walk the dog loop without negotiating with myself at the halfway tree.
The scale hasn’t been dramatic. But last week I stood for the whole concert rehearsal and didn’t think about my knees once. That felt like a real win, even if my weight chart just shrugged.
Curious what everyone else is chasing that a number can’t show. Not trying to be deep — just need more things to cheer for.
