The hill by the reservoir stopped being a negotiation

Three years here, mostly reading the maintenance check-ins and the occasional long-run update. I don’t get many dramatic milestones anymore; the scale and I have a pretty boring truce. But last Tuesday I walked the dog up the hill by the reservoir and only realized at the top that I hadn’t stopped at the bench halfway. No new pace, no big distance — just no internal debate about whether I could keep going and still talk. For me, that’s the progress that actually sticks: the small negotiations going silent. Has anyone else had a moment where the change showed up as less effort rather than a new number?
