The index card taped inside my pantry door

I'm 58, and the last kid moved out in June, so dinners stopped having a default shape. I'm three weeks into a new weekly prescription, and the only tracking tool I've kept is a plain index card taped inside the pantry door.

Four tally marks: a 2-mile walk before coffee, eight cups of water, a palm of protein at lunch, and something green with dinner. No calories, no app. On Sunday I copy the tallies into a cheap notebook and write one meal I was glad I cooked.

It sounds too simple, but seeing the card before I open a cabinet has cut my evening grazing way down. What low-tech habit or tracker has actually survived past week two for you?
