I keep a 0–5 hunger note in my phone, plus a one-line mood check, because I don’t fully trust my own read on this yet. Before, food was a constant background tab: what’s in the kitchen, when can I eat next, did I “do enough” to deserve dinner. That part is genuinely softer now. But around 4 p.m., I notice a different voice. It’s not urging me to eat so much as auditing me: scanning my stomach, checking whether I’ve earned the next meal, wondering if quiet means something is wrong. So the noise didn’t exactly vanish—it changed shape into a quieter kind of vigilance. I’m trying to be gentle with that instead of calling it a failure. For those further along, did your mental food chatter fade, move, or turn into something else entirely? I’d like to know what to watch for without borrowing anyone else’s story.
The snack soundtrack is quieter, but something else is talking
