I’m 15 weeks into a GLP-1, down 24 lb, and my afternoon focus is still inconsistent. I keep seeing people describe Semax as laser focus and Selank as calm-but-sharp, and I can’t tell whether that’s real, placebo, or just sleep and protein finally lining up. I’m not looking for hype or a protocol. I’m curious what actually changed for you: work output, mood, anxiety, appetite, sleep, side effects? If you tracked it over 2–3 weeks, what concrete differences did you notice versus your normal baseline? What made you stop or keep going? I’d especially like to hear from folks who also changed GLP-1 dose or caffeine during the same stretch, because that seems like a giant confounder. Please share specifics, not just “it works.”
Anyone else tried Semax or Selank and tracked real effects?
For what it's worth, i’m on a GLP-1 too and tried logging afternoon focus instead of vibes: 1–5 rating at 2pm, time until first phone grab, tasks finished. For me the biggest variables were protein before noon, sleep >7h, and a 10-min walk after lunch. In the trials, Semax/Selank are small, short, and mostly not in people on GLP-1s, so I’d be careful attributing much to them—my n=1 was maybe a slight edge in verbal fluency for a few hours, not the laser focus people describe. Are you tracking anything objective, like distraction count or typing speed, or just subjective feel?
I’m maintaining now, but during my loss phase my 2pm focus was a mess until I tracked it. I rated focus 1–5 at 2 and 4, noted lunch, caffeine, sleep, meetings. The pattern wasn’t mysterious: low appetite = skimpy lunch = crash. A normal lunch plus 10 min outside fixed more than any supplement I’ve tried. I haven’t used Semax/Selank, so I can’t compare. Sharp follow-up: what does your 2–4pm actually look like right now—do you have a baseline week without new additions? That’s the piece I’d want before crediting calm-sharp anything.
I haven’t tried either. I’m 4x/week lifting and the only things that reliably changed my afternoon focus were boring: 7.5+ hrs sleep, 30g protein at lunch, and a 15-min walk instead of another coffee. My 2pm focus also tanks hard on heavy lower-body days, even when sleep/protein are on point. Since you’re 15 weeks in, is your dip every afternoon or mainly after training days? That distinction would tell me way more than any “laser focus” report.
