MOTS-C feels like golf: one good round keeps you hooked

I'm 14 weeks into a GLP-1 and down 22 lb, waist 38 to 34. The boring stuff is working: 140g protein, 7k steps, no liquid calories. So of course I started reading about MOTS-C because apparently I need another variable in the spreadsheet.

The golf comparison landed for me. You get one clean shot — better recovery, a decent week, whatever — and suddenly you're rebuilding your whole protocol around a par that doesn't exist. I haven't tried it. I'm not asking for a source or a dose. I'm asking whether anyone else has noticed this pattern with peptides: the more you optimize, the more you're just managing noise.

My current rule is one change per 30 days. Keeps me from chasing ghost gains. What's the longest you've gone before deciding something was actually worth keeping?

The golf thing is real. I stalled for six weeks at the same scale weight, but my waist kept creeping down, which kept me from throwing the whole spreadsheet in the trash. What helped was switching to 7-day averages and a monthly waist/hip measurement instead of daily weigh-ins. If you add another variable, decide before you start what single metric counts as success and how long you’ll give it before bailing. Otherwise it’s just another tab. What would you want it to move first — recovery, steps, or the scale?
