Compliments are fine, but the watching wears on me

Down about 90 pounds across two years, holding steady since last spring. I braced for the physical stuff to settle. What I didn't plan for is how much more people seem to clock me now.

It isn't creepy, mostly. It's small. A neighbor I've nodded at for six years suddenly wants to know my weekend plans. Someone at the pool asked whether I compete in anything. My sister-in-law keeps saying I look "like myself again," and I never know where to put that.

A single nice comment I can handle. It's the ongoing noticing that gets under my skin, like there's a version of me people are keeping tabs on and I have to keep being her.

Lately I give short, boring answers and pivot the conversation. It helps maybe half the time.

Anyone else find that the attention, even the well-meaning kind, turned into its own thing to manage?
