My empty-nester groove has a few soft spots now

For what it's worth, four months into this chapter—kids gone, house quiet—I had a nice little rhythm: two-mile loop after breakfast, a real vegetable on the plate at dinner, leftovers packed before I sat down. Lately I’ve been drifting.

Not a blowout, just a pile of small skips: the loop becomes a second cup of coffee, the vegetable becomes a handful of crackers over the sink, and I keep telling myself I’ll get back to it tomorrow.

What bothers me is how ordinary the slip feels. No drama, no last straw, just a slow leak.

I don’t want to overcorrect into tracking every bite again. Curious whether anyone else has a reset that’s smaller than a whole new plan—something you do for one evening or one walk to remind yourself you’re still in this?
