The mirror and my camera roll keep contradicting each other

i'm trying to figure out which feedback to trust. Once a month I take a photo in the same hallway, same time, phone propped on a cereal box. The mirror usually says my waist looks softer; the photo often looks like nothing changed. Meanwhile the scale is down 11 lb since January and my tape measure shows 1.5 inches off my waist. I know lighting, posture, and bloat can make both signals noisy, so I'm not asking anyone to diagnose me. But I'd like to know what other people use when the mirror and the photo disagree: do you default to measurements, a trend line, a DEXA scan, or how daily energy feels? And if you've found any actual studies on self-perception versus objective change, I'd read them. Not looking for hype, just a tiebreaker.
