Half a year in and my jeans finally fit again

Hit the six-month mark this week, which feels a little surreal given how long I lurked here before ever posting. Down 41 lbs, from a snug 18 to a comfortable 14, and honestly the thing I notice most isn't the scale — it's that I stopped thinking about food between meals. Around week 12 I got impatient and nearly talked myself into quitting because things slowed way down; that slow-and-steady thread from last spring is probably the only reason I didn't. Habits that actually stuck: protein at breakfast, a 20-minute walk after dinner, and weighing myself only on Sundays so the daily noise doesn't mess with my head. Still no idea what maintenance will look like for me down the road. For the folks who've crossed a full year — did the back half feel different from the first six months, or pretty much the same?

Congrats on the 14s — that's a real thing you can feel, not just a number. And I'm dying to know how that sentence ends, because week 12 is exactly where I got stupid impatient too. What got you through it? For what it's worth, months four thrugh six I lost maybe 3 lbs on the scale but went down two notches on my belt. I started measuring my waist every Sunday with a fabric tape and logging it in the same note as my weight, because the scale was lying to me emotionally. Also stopped weighing daily — twice a week max. The plateau is still a plateau, but at least now I can see something moving.
