Cold pack, hotel fridge, and four mornings without the scale

Took a six-day trip last month — train both ways, two hotels, one friend's couch. I weigh daily and only really trust my weekly average, so going scale-free for four mornings felt like a tiny experiment.

What came with me: the pen in a slim insulated sleeve with one gel pack, spare gel pack in my tote. Hotel fridge #1 was basically room temperature, so the sleeve lived in the ice bucket liner instead. Nothing dramatic happened. Restaurant food most nights, way more walking than usual, appetite stayed quiet.

Got home, stepped on, up 2.4 lbs. Two mornings later I was within 0.6 of where I left. Sodium, sleep, travel — noise, not signal. Honestly the weird part was how little I thought about the whole thing once I stopped treating it like a project.

For the frequent travelers here: do you log the off-routine days or just let the trend line absorb them?
